Carolina Opry Christmas Special – The Christmas Show of the South

Celebrating 30 years of holiday tradition, The Carolina Opry Christmas Special is brimming with music, comedy, and dance. This year’s show plans to blend new changes with time-honored traditions. Known as “The Holiday Show of the South,” it is at the top of every Myrtle Beach Holiday must-see list. Alabama Theatre – The South’s Grandest Christmas Show

Voted Myrtle Beach’s #1 Holiday Show, the Alabama Theatre presents The South’s Grandest Christmas Show. This year’s Christmas extravaganza combines talent, scenery and special effects to produce a spectacular holiday musical experience. The South’s Grandest Christmas Show is a southern family tradition on the Grand Strand for visitors and locals alike. Pirates Voyage Christmas Show

Christmas at Pirates Voyage takes guests on a voyage with Captain Scrooge and the mystical Spirit of Christmas as they travel to the past, through the present, and into the future of Buccaneer Bay. From November 5th, 2015 through January 2nd, 2016 families will watch in awe as Christmas toys come to life before their eyes, performing amazing acrobatics high overhead. The show is topped off with a four-course holiday feast, featuring Buccaneer bread, a roasted half chicken, barbecued pork, corn on the cob, mashed and flogged taters, and apple pie. Dickens Christmas Show & Festivals

For folks who love to get into the holiday spirit without being confined to their seats, The Dickens Christmas Show & Festivals is a unique event comprised of a multitude of shopping and entertainment options. The cornerstone of the event is a Victorian Holiday Marketplace held in the giant exhibition hall of the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. Here, against a Victorian Holiday background, explore amidst the hundreds of period-dressed vendors selling everything from jewelry, gifts, toys, arts and crafts, gourmet foods, holiday d├ęcor and much more. There is really is something here for everyone on your holiday shopping list. In addition to the many vendors, strolling Victorian Musicians, Tea Leaf Readers, Punch & Judy Shows, shadow box displays, a life-sized historic “Santa through the Ages” exhibit and a real live Santa, contribute to the incredible holiday spectacle – not to mention the elaborate displays of trees, Wreaths and other decorations to experience too! Nights of a Thousand Candles

Each weekend in December, leading up to the Christmas holiday, head to Brookgreen Gardens in Murrell’s Inlet after dark and enjoy the Nights of a Thousand Candles. Stroll amid the soft glow of more than 5,500 hand-lit candles and countless sparkling lights from 3:00-10:00 PM. Walk the paths with a warm cup of cider, hear the sounds of hand bells ringing, carolers singing, and celebrate the season with family and friends. This annual event has become a holiday tradition when the gardens become a wonderland of lights and candles and outstanding entertainment. Dinner catered by Inlet Affairs is also available in addition to admission prices. Nights of a Thousand Candles takes place three weekends only: December 3-5, 10-12, and 17-19, 2015. Intracoastal Christmas Regatta

Every year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving Little River Inlet hosts the annual Intracoastal Christmas Regatta Boat Parade. Bring the whole family and watch extravagantly decorated boats displaying the holiday spirit as they pass by several viewing between Little River Inlet and arriving at Dock Holidays Marina. This event is complete free to attend, but organizers encourage viewers to donate a new, unwrapped toy to support families in need during the holiday season. Toys and donations can be dropped off at Harbourgate Marina. This year’s regatta will be held on November 28th, 2015 from 5:00-7:00PM.
