We have some fantastic leadership here at Oceana Resorts and we can’t help but brag about the talent on our team. To that end, we would like to introduce the new general manager at The Patricia Grand, Bob Singleton. We are proud to have him as part of the Oceana team and are excited to share a bit of information about him and the plans he has for our resort.

Bob Singleton General Manager Carolinian Beach Resort

Bob is a native of Myrtle Beach and truly loves all that the area offers in terms of activity and nature. After high school, he moved to Florida and enrolled in Southeastern Academy to study hospitality management knowing that his love of Myrtle Beach would be best suited to a career in the hospitality industry. His desire to return to Myrtle Beach was strong and he returned to the area in 1984 and took a job with another resort as a night auditor for a few years before moving on to tackle a major project converting an old hotel into renovated condominiums. Fast forward a few years and Bob transitioned to another popular resort as general manager. He remained here for 20 years and worked for other resorts before joining the team at The Patricia Grand.

Since Bob began in his role of general manager at The Patricia Grand, renovation of the indoor pool area has been completed. Improvements to many of the rooms are ongoing as well. Bob championed to have the outdoor pool heated and that has proven to be a big bonus as guests are able to enjoy that pool for an extended period. He was also responsible for renovations to the pool bar including the addition of food service – providing a great convenience to our guests. Bob was instrumental in rebranding all of the food and beverage outlets including the pool bar, coffee bar, and restaurant. This includes a complete overhaul of the food offerings to provide a more Southern fresh approach.

Bob’s main focus is on providing the best in service for his guests. He wants vacationers to have an experience here that they simply can’t get anywhere else and one that will remain in their memories for a lifetime. The ultimate goal is to provide a worry-free vacation. Bob’s philosophy is to treat everyone as though they are his personal guests visiting his home. He strives to provide a comfortable, inviting atmosphere and instills that philosophy in his team as well.

In addition to his vast hospitality management experience, Bob also holds a Real Estate broker’s license and works on the side helping people buy and sell homes. Not only does this come in handy with his job as general manager, it brings him joy helping others find their dream home in an area he loves.

In his limited spare time, Bob enjoys offshore fishing, hunting, and surfing. He makes annual treks to Costa Rica to “catch the big waves”. He owns land there on which he hopes to one day build his retirement home. Bob is also a huge fan of golf and frequently visits a variety of courses on his down time. Bob takes a lot of pride in his garden where he grows a variety of fresh vegetables. When you visit The Patricia Grand, please stop in and say hi to Bob. He’ll be happy to swap hunting stories with you or talk about the fish that got away.
